Once inside, Kat told her mother of the flashback, that it was not a nightmare but her basically reliving the events which led to Tanna's murder. She was thoroughly shaken up and crumpled into the Admiral's arms, sobbing uncontrollably. She clung desperately to Admiral Janeway. This was too much for a ten year old girl to take.

Hugging Kat, the Admiral lifts Kats face and says
"Kitten listen to me, I know your pain I feel it, we'll get through it, but its things like this that make us stronger not weaker, so it must always be a part of you, dont hide from it, the more you try to push it away, the more harm it can do. I know its scary, but it can help you ultimately in the future."

She smiles at Kat who has calmed a little by now, sitting Kat in the ready room chair the admiral says "Remeber the meditation techniques your father used to teach you for things like this?"

Kat nodds her head

"Give it a try, focus on the images and sounds and let it wash over you like a calm wave"

Kat begins to meditate, but shifts around a lot, so she stands up and then sits cross legged on the floor, "this is comfier and more relaxing" says Kat

"Good what ever works best for you" replies the Admiral

Kat falls into a deep meditative state, so the Admiral crouches beside her and whispers to Kat "I'll be on the bridge if you need me"
With that the Admiral stands up straightens her uniform and enters the bridge

"No-one is to enter my ready room for a while... understood" she says glaring at the crew whom all nodd.
"Excellent!..... Report!"

Katty was meditating to the point of levitating off the floor. She was magical after all. She cleared her mind and was in a deep trance. She knew that Mommy was on the Bridge. God, how she missed Daddy and Tanna... She kn ew that Mommy missed them too. When she snapped out of it about an hour later, she was once again overcome with grief this time to the point of physically being sick to her stomach. She bolted for the nearest trashcan, violently ill a moment later. She was probably coming down with something. She silently cursed herself in different languages for working herself too much. Working quickly, she tapped her Commbadge. "M..Mommy... help..." She managed to squeak out before collapsing on the ready room floor.

After a few moments on the bridge First Officer Manda King & Seven arrive on the bridge.

"Ready to go Admiral" they both say in tandum.

Janeway shakes her head, well Seven is usually in command even though she has no official rank. But a first officer is a first officer.

King & Seven look at each other and take opposite directions round the bridge to get to the Admiral standing by the helm.

"Helmsman set course to intercept Admiral Taylor in the Cardassian system, warp 9 engage when ready"

The helmsman nodds and taps a few panels and Voyager is at warp.

Seven asks the Admiral why she isnt using the new engines to get there quicker.
The Admiral is a little reluctant as they are still relatively new.

Soon Voyager arrives in the Cardassian system and the tactical alert systems sound, the view screen automatically snaps into action and can see the Prometheus & the Sovereign in battle mode.

Voyager has just arrived at the base with the sovereign and admiral Reece

The repairs to Sovereign & Voyager are almost complete.

More so the starbase is only a day away from full operational duties.

Everyone is busy about their duties, both bridges are practically empty because all attention is on assisting the starbase.
So they dont notice the brief glimmer of a cloaked ship on sensors.
The only thing that isnt yet working aboard the starbase.

Seven of Nine is regenerating in her alcove and suddenly awakens.
Stepping out of her alcove, the computer notifying her the cycle isnt complete, she taps her com-badge and hails First Officer King & Admiral Taylor.

"Seven to Commander King & Admiral Taylor, meet me in the astrometrics lab at once, I believe you'll want to see this"

Seven had linked her alcove into ships systems as she once did before, so anything the ship noticed that the crew may have blinked and missed, she got the information literally downloaded into her concious and if threatening, immediately woken.

She meets Commander King in astrometrics but the Admiral hasnt arrived.
She shows the commander the brief glimps the astrometric scanner found of the near by cloaked vessle.

"They're back!" says King "Admiral Janeway was right"

Seven smirking and turning back to the screen says "We need to inform Admiral Taylor where is he?"

"Last I knew he was aboard the starbase, getting her sensors online, I'll go meet him, you inform the Sovereign crew" answers King.

"Agreed, I'll meet you aboard the starbase in 30 minutes" says 7

With that they part ways, Seven beaming to the sovereign after alerting Voyager to be on tactical alert. Commander King beaming over to the starbase to find the Admiral.

Everyone that needed to know, knew that the construction of the new starbase was some what of a secret, thus far.
But not many knew why.
It was thought that the presence of romulans in the area, was they thought it was a secret listening post, but this isnt true.

The Romulans, among others infact feared this starbase because it is state of the art replacement for the old starbase 157 which in 2366 along with the USS Lalo, was attacked by the Borg.

Until recently starbase 157 was destitute, running on minimal power and barely making quota's, not that she needed to because there were other starbases within the region close by.

The new replacement base designated Starbase 157 Alpha, yes has listening post capabilities, but it has more than that.
It is the largest starbase construction so far, has all new technology, if needed the starbase can manouver, though not recommended for such a large structure.

It has cloaking capabilities, though we seen the romulans cloak the base with their technology linked, she has the capability her self to do this.
It has transphasic torpedos, ablative hull armour, multi-phasic phazers and shields, and an ability to go into multi vector assault mode, several sections of the station disengage to become ships, should no ships be in the area, to defend her self while leaving much of the base intact for ships that may be docked.

This starbase was infact commissioned by Admiral Janeway and the first in the steady release of new technologies.

The starbase for most purposes will serve as a standard base as do many, but this base is here to listen out for and ultimately destroy or capture any remaining borg vessles, but rather than destroy, built into her comms array is a signal to help ex-drones now wandering the galaxy, to becom individuals, the destruction of such vessles and drones is a last resort should the process of "releasing drones" be unsuccessful.

It is also programmed with several suffisticated computers, replicators and manned by people researching new technologies and their implimentations, being it has the database of the elder admirals ship. Getting them into testing and ultimately mass production.

So the Romulans fear it indeed, not only for its capabilities, but also for the fact that it will attract borg vessles with its homing signal.

Voyager didnt join the fleet assisting the starbase construction by accident, she was infact placed there by the admiral, though no one knew.

Upon the completion of the starbase, Voyager is programmed to initiate the first signal sent to the starbase to "activate". And to over-ride anyships navigational systems within reach to move to a safe distance, because the new starbases first mission is to destroy the original starbase and manouver her self into position of the old base and take up her post as the new starbase 157 Alpha.

The starbase is complete and aboard is a full crew, Deanna, Reg, Kat, Admiral Janeway & Captain Daniels.
