Admirals Log Stardate 201101.16 Time Index 05.32
I´ve just spent a relaxing hour with Admiral Adawm Kirk onboard his vessel.
Im going to check in on Rommy before I head to bed. The starbase engineers inform me Kirks vessel will be ready by 1600 later this evening.
Well I guess I shouldnt burn the midnight oil and get some rest before another busy day.

Admiral´s Log Stardate 201101.16 Supplimental
Repairs to The Andromeda Ascendent are now complete, she is ready to fly again. Im hopeful that this evening her Avatar and my friend Rommy will also be back online.

Im informed that the upgrades to USS James Kirk are also complete.
Excellent, now all ships should be ready for their impending missions.
On a personal note I hope I can delay them just a little while before launch, so that we may have the informal, dinner we had all spoken about, especially for our new allies.
If Rommy is ready I shall also be setting out, resuming my search of the Galaxies.

Admiral log Stardate 201101.17

Even with a skeleton crew running things those onboard the base have done exceedingly well. The mobile emittors are out, and a number of ships have been upgraded for Slipstream Drive. I am proud of all my crewmen.

Most notably is the USS Kirk she is ready to depart on the Prometheus' mission. Her upgrdes now being complete

Admiral Daniels Im so proud of the starbase staff too, they worked remarkably well in such short time.

Im pleased to say that Rommy is also back now.
I will soon be heading out again my self.
I just have to track down her crew they appear to have gone AWOL haha, probably lost on the starbase or a holodeck.

Fleet Admiral Kirk, I would love to have dinner with you sometimes that sounds great. You might want to hold off your launch though and join the pre-launch dinner we´re holding in honour of our missions but more importantly our new allies.

As I was walking through the starbase corridors back to The Andromeda, Rommy was walking toward me, a data padd in her hand.

"Admiral, I thought you might like to see this" Rommy says with a serious yet shy voice

I look at the padd.

"oh my"...."this could work"..."who did you have inmind for the project?"
I reply with a hesetant voice

"Well I could see to the initial stages myself, but I think it best we let the starbase team take a look, besides I thought you´d be eager to get underay again" Rommy smiles

"Hmmm indeed" my face still musing over the data.

"Admiral dont worry, it will be fine, and I´m ok now thanx for asking" smirks Rommy dipping her head to the floor, shuffling her feet as if looking for a compliment.

"I never doubted it Rommy, and its good to have you back, I was worried you know" I hug her "you´re more than just the ships AI to me, you´re family"

A tear appears in Rommy´s eye.
"See you´re more human than you give yourself credit for.... Come on lets get started"
I take her arm and we walk back to the comand centre.

Yes they have done such amazing work in short time I am amazed by them.

Ah Admiral that is indeed wonderous news. I am happy to hear Rommy is back online. I wish her and you all the best.

I´ve just sent admiral impalabill3407 (bill neidrich) his assignment.
He is now underway to patrol the klingon boarder, using starbase k7 and the briar patch as defence.

OOC: I just looked at the maps here on the forum, and realise that where I posted the Luna isnt far from starbase 157 alpha, just further down.

The luna in the trek world was once near by the original starbase 157, and either destroyed or badly damaged in a borg attack.

But ofcourse in our adapted version the Luna is fine and as you know there is a new experimental starbase 157 alpha in place of the old one. infact the first mission of the new base was to destroy the old one, once everyone was safely evacuated, and take up her position.

As Rommy walked back to the bridge of The Andromeda, me still in my quarters. The red alert sirens sound nd the ship shakes violently.

"Ok Rommy thats enough, I got the joke, Im fine now, I didnt mean to upset you" I shout at the comms.

"Admiral that wasnt me, this is real" replies Rommy.

"Explain!" I say

"The starbase has just gone to red alert, patching through computer audio now" she replies

"Warning Borg vessel detected, Multi vector assault mode iniciated, Starbase seperation in 30 seconds" yells the computer as its own red alert and other sirens sound.

"Andromeda this better not be another joke" I yell

"No joke admiral" shouts Rommy as the ship shakes again.
"Not a malfunction either" I ask hoping.
"Here see for your self, you better get up here" shouts Rommy now getting frustrated.

"Auto seperation in 20 seconds" calls the computer

"Im on my way to the bridge, disembark from the starbase and lay in a course for the Borg vessel and open a channel to all vessels and the starbase"

"Aknowledge, course laid in channel open" replies Rommy

As I enter the bridge Rommy puts the Borg ship on the view screen, its a Borg Sphere. "Its about time!" she yells but smiling, frantically tapping at the helm and readying weapons.

"This is Admiral Janeway to all vessels, go to red alert and stand by to assist, this is not a drill I repeat this is not a drill, all vessels prepare for duty"

Turning to Rommy I say "Well I knew it was too good to be true, there had to be some left over, I couldnt have expected that destroying them in my past didnt mean they dont exist here, hopefully we can end this before it starts" as I walk to my chair bringing up the sensor data.

The starbase has now seperated and is heading to the Sphere in an attempt to surround it. It is sending out the signal pre designed to release drones and make them individuals.

"I hope this works...STATUS!"

"The vessel is being very erratic, from what I can tell the signal has reached the Sphere and managed to convert almost 50% of the drones, however..." Rommy says

"This is the part Im not going to like... go on" I interupt

"The sphere is rotating shield harmonics and dampening the signal, we may have to fight this one, before I lost sensor data inside the sphere, I noticed the individuals were trying to assist, but Im guessing it wont be long before the remaining Borg regain full control" shouts Rommy as the Sphere fires on us.

"Thats what I didnt want to hear" I reply
Shouting at the comms "All vessels, intercept the Borg Sphere, try to disable her, do not destroy her unless I order or absolutely necissary, Janeway Out!"

The starbase has several perameters preprogrammed for such an event. If unsuccessful the borg vessel will be destroyed.
Noticing the change in shield harmonics, the seperated sections of the starbase are now forming in a sphere pattern and creating a lattice of beams within them.

"Janeway to the fleet, try to drive the Sphere into that lattice field, do not destroy it yet, I´d like to try and save as many of those drones as possible, the starbase is re-analyzing and adapting to try boost the signal"

Rommy notices a weakness in the Spheres shields, the now ex-drones are working frantically to give us any advantage they can. Luckily the remaining borg are too busy to reassimilate them just yet. It causing the spheres course to change erratically and rapidly, giving the fleet and starbase a window of opportunity.

Rommy shouts "Admiral should I beam out the survivors?"
"No not yet...they might be able to keep the borg busy long enough for us to help them all, try to keep a lock on them though" I hesitantly reply
Thinking to my self, I really want to get them out now, but they´re giving us an advantage we need. But I may have to get them out quickly should the vessel be destroyed, atleast then we can save some rather than none. But I´d like to save all of them and the vessel if possible

"Andromeda get me ship wide, ah never mind" I tap my comm badge

"Crew of the Andromeda, Battlestations!!"

I pause looking at the viewscreen at the sphere and continue

"Commander Kirk report to engineering, Lt Troi report to the lower hanger deck, there maybe exdrones requiring your counselling pretty soon if we manage to save any"

I pause again and look round the bridge and then at Rommy who is busy at tactical firing kenetic defense missiles.

"And where the hell is Lt. Maxwell he should be on the bridge by now!"

I tap my badge again to cut the channel and refocus my attention on the bridge and assist Rommy.

"Dont worry Admiral I can handle this, I am The Andromeda" she smiles and almost laughs as she says it.

In the brief glimps of her smile I almost laugh my self and reply "I dont doubt it & possibly so could I, but you dont mind if the rest of us give you a hand do you"

The laughter is broke as fire supressant systems on the bridge kick in, as another volley is fired from the sphere.

"Where are those damned ships, they should be here now" I shout.

"Approaching aft Admiral, dont worry we´re covered, I think we might win this one" Rommy says showing me her crossed fingers.

"huh and you thought you werent human" I laugh. as another volley hits "but we´ll talk about that later"

enters the bridge. everyone is on red alert. on the viewscreen the borg ship looms up ahead looking like something out of bram stokers dracula novels.

"helm set an intercept course corordinates 123 by478.89. engage."

I have received word that Admiral Daniels Adama is remining aboard the Starbase and conducting efforts there. Leaving a very nervous 1st Officer Brendan of Nine in command of the Bellerophon.
No wonder he is nervous, its the borg, his former family.
I dont envy him. Im sure he will do proud once he has ignored his fears & could give us a tactical advantage as an ex drone.

"Janeway to Bellerophon, good to see you finally arrived"
I turn to Rommy "status on other ships!"
Rommy replies "all ships have left the starbase and are now engaging Admiral"

"Excellent..." tapping my comm-badge "Janeway to the fleet, remember the objective here is to try and save the drones, do your best, Janeway out!"

having finally overcome my fear of the borg i have taken action.

taking command of the ship i tap my com badge and open a channel to the The Andromeda. "Admiral Janeway, the shields on the borg ship are weakening. shall i beam the deaciviated drones to the cargo bay"

Having been trumped momentairly by the switching shied harmonics Brendan of Nine's past life as a borg drone has given us the necessary info to counter their counter measures. The beam is once again effective for now, yet I fear the Borg can adapt again, I only hope that those who hae turned can aid us by distracting the Borg

As I say that, I look back at the view screen, the starbase formation has managed to take advantage of the weakened shields, propulsion of the sphere is now offline and the starbase has surrounded it, and its signl is now able to penetrate the sphere.

"Janeway to all vessels hold you fire and stand by to evacuate the ex drones"
Turning to Rommy "Rommy report!"

"Sensors indicate the starbase has managed to convert over 60% of the drones, however the remaining borg are still trying to adapt, they´re putting up one hell of a fight Admiral" replies Rommy

"Lets give them a little distraction" tapping my control panel I again hail the fleet "all vessels target this section and use minimum force, lets end this, get those shields down and save the drones, Janeway out!"

All vessels signal aknowledgment and move in to cripple the sphere and give the drones a chance of survival instead of death.
